There is some unfortunate naming. Apple has a filesystem called HFS, and zOS has another filesystem called HFS. Linux supports Apples HFS, not zOS HFS.
Also, SUN is creating a new filesystem for Solaris called ZFS. So there will be zOS ZFS, and SUN ZFS. -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Uriel Carrasquilla Sent: Tuesday, June 07, 2005 8:38 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Bringing USS into the Penguin Colony using HFS has anybody tried to work with USS/zOS and zLinux SuSE/LPAR in the same box? I was wondering if I can mount a SuSE file system under USS/zOS as a recovery system. For some reason, USS (HFS) is not recognizing the SuSE file system. Somewhere in the SuSE admin I read that HFS is supported.
