Acutally that's true only for machines that don't have Vanderpool Technology
(available in recent Intel Xeon's) or Pacifica (upcomping for AMD64/Opteron).
Current XEN release can work with any unmodified operating system as Guest
if the CPU has VT.
The whole technology is very close to pseries virtualization, on zSeries
LPAR is closest but XEN is lacking IO virtualization compared to LPAR.
Compared to z/VM, XEN is missing both IO virtualization and virtual
(pageable) guest memory.
