The Linux guests are very small with very little activity against them.
They are defined with 500MB each. The z/VM LPAR has 1488 MB real storage
defined to it. I have the z/VM performance monitor up and running. I do
not see any indications of paging problems. Is there something specific I
can peek at?

I'd look at storage statistics, paging rates as a start. How much memory
do you have?
