Yea...I know the feeling...

About 3 years ago, I upgraded my DSL connection from 1.5 mbs to 3.0 mbs
and acquired 5 static IP addresses. Well, it was fun for a while.

I had a setup with Samba running. Allowed me to share files. But when
ever I was remote, the files I wanted were never in the Samba share.
However, local to around my house, everything is accessable via wifi.
So the need is only when I'm sufficient distance that the drive is a
pain.

Then I have home video cameras that were available over a webserver.
Kind of boring. Birds land in the yard. Birds take off from the yard.
Rather use the PC for something else<G>.

Tried a setup where if someone came to the door, a picture would be
taken and sent to my cell phone. (still couldn't tell who it was)

But, I'm still keeping the IP addresses. Perhaps, someday, I might get
motivated again, to just do things.

Anyway, I did think of linuxvm.org, but I recall that it hasn't been
updated in over a year. I used it a lot back in 2003/2004. But now I
see that it is being updated again...GREAT! Time to put it back on top
of the bookmarks.

Thanks

Tom,

Exactly. It was a fun little experiment and $10/mo didn't sound like
much, but I gave up on it (scratched that itch).

It's on http://linuxvm.org/patches/S390/mksles9root.sh

Thanks to Mark Post and Velocity Software for maintaining/hosting
linuxvm.org.
