I believe the answer is that DB/2 for z/OS is priced by MSU.  DB/2 for Linux is 
priced by processor.  It will run on a CP, but IBM may not license it there 
(normally).  I would go back and ask them to do more research and if the answer 
is the same, ask them why they won't license it on your existing CPs.
