No. I just reinstalled SLES 10 SP2 to test. On the "Hostname and Domain
Name" panel in the second half of the install I uncheck "Change Hostname
via DHCP" and leave "Write Hostname to /etc/hosts" checked.

Same /etc/hosts on the new system:
  # tail -1 /etc/hosts
  127.0.0.2       gpok149.endicott.ibm.com gpok149
