They drop the ability to run a TCP/IP point-to-point connection to the
VM stack over IUCV. Like they drop the ability to use CTC for it.  The
assumption being that everyone has at least LCS or QDIO on Virtual
NIC, Hipersockets or real OSA devices.

There's other exploitation of IUCV in Linux using the same low-level
IUCV code (like picking up SMSG, the terminal controller thing,
retrieve certain CP data streams, etc)  Those are not going away.
