Small world: I learned FORTRAN when I was in high school, using TCU's IBM1620. We used a keypunch and punched cards, though, no terminals or paper tape were available.
We lived a couple of blocks from the old city golf course which became part of TCU. TCU was run by my Dad's denomination, Disciples of Christ. I guess he thought he could save money by sending us there and having us live at home. (None of us did.)
