Hi,

I am not a current S/390 customer, but when I was I spent quite some time
together with Rob vd Heij analysing VSwitch performance and the workings of the
virtualised instructions (none of them published by IBM) that go with them. At
that time (z/VM 5.3 ish) those instructions needed to massage the queues were
the major cause of performance limitations of VSwitch that made us go with
dedicated OSA bundles to Linux guests (in our case TSM) that needed them.

Rob may still have the numbers. I don't as I lost the S/390 installation.

best regards,
Pieter Harder

Re performance, there has been no need to change time slice since qdio,
about 5 years ago.
