Hello Mark,
the issue is solved.
We included <bootloader> information for SLES10 into autoyast.xml. There seems
to be a change at SLES 11. We had to remove all storage related modules form
<initrd_modules>. Now we simply add vmcp and vmur as modules to our initrd.
