Your 'CP Q V' output does not show the NIC. But ... Looks like you issued that 'CP Q V' from MAINT, based on the addresses of several of the disks.
You want to do the 'CP Q V' from the ID / virtual machine where you want to run Linux. (And tell me you're *not* trying to boot Linux on your MAINT ID. That's technically possible, but not really a good idea. Too long to discuss in this note.) Earlier in this thread, you mentioned LNXMAINT. -- R; <>< On 06/05/2015 01:55 PM, Dazzo, Matt wrote: > I believe you are correct, I never added the vswitch to the tcpip stack. > Looking at the redbook now. > > CP Q NIC > Default System MAC Protection: OFF > Network Device Allocation: Permitted > Ready; T=0.01/0.01 13:53:11 > > > CP Q V > STORAGE = 256M > XSTORE = none > CPU 00 ID FF004E7E20988000 (BASE) IFL CPUAFF ON > No AP Crypto Domains are available > CONS 0009 ON LDEV L0003 TERM START HOST TCPIP FROM 10.37.0.102 > 0009 CL T NOCONT NOHOLD COPY 001 READY FORM STANDARD > 0009 TO MAINT RDR DIST SYSPROG FLASHC 000 DEST OFF > 0009 FLASH CHAR MDFY 0 FCB LPP OFF > 0009 3215 NOEOF OPEN 0045 NOKEEP NOMSG NONAME > 0009 SUBCHANNEL = 001E > RDR 000C CL * NOCONT NOHOLD EOF READY > 000C 2540 CLOSED NOKEEP NORESCAN SUBCHANNEL = 001F > PUN 000D CL A NOCONT NOHOLD COPY 001 READY FORM STANDARD > 000D TO MAINT PUN DIST SYSPROG DEST OFF > 000D FLASH 000 CHAR MDFY 0 FCB > 000D 2540 NOEOF CLOSED NOKEEP NOMSG NONAME > 000D SUBCHANNEL = 0020 > PRT 000E CL A NOCONT NOHOLD COPY 001 READY FORM STANDARD > 000E TO MAINT PRT DIST SYSPROG FLASHC 000 DEST OFF > 000E FLASH CHAR MDFY 0 FCB LPP OFF > 000E 1403 NOEOF CLOSED NOKEEP NOMSG NONAME > DASD 0122 3390 630SPL R/W 10017 CYL ON DASD 4991 SUBCHANNEL = 0014 > DASD 0123 3390 630RES R/W 10017 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0015 > DASD 0124 3390 630WK1 R/W 10017 CYL ON DASD 4995 SUBCHANNEL = 0016 > DASD 0190 3390 630RES R/W 214 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0013 > DASD 0191 3390 630RES R/W 175 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0017 > DASD 0193 3390 630RES R/W 500 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0018 > DASD 0194 3390 630RL1 R/O 400 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0008 > DASD 019D 3390 630RES R/W 292 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0019 > DASD 019E 3390 630RES R/W 500 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 001A > DASD 0201 3390 630RL1 R/O 22 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0000 > DASD 02A2 3390 630RL1 R/O 6 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0006 > DASD 02A4 3390 630RL1 R/O 6 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0005 > DASD 02A6 3390 630RL1 R/O 6 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0004 > DASD 02C4 3390 630RL1 R/O 5 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0003 > DASD 02CC 3390 VMCOM1 R/W 10 CYL ON DASD 4993 SUBCHANNEL = 000E > DASD 02D2 3390 630RL1 R/O 350 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0007 > DASD 0400 3390 630RL1 R/O 450 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0009 > DASD 0401 3390 630RES R/W 292 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 001B > DASD 0402 3390 630RES R/W 292 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 001C > DASD 0490 3390 630RL1 R/O 214 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0001 > DASD 0493 3390 630RL1 R/O 250 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 000A > DASD 049E 3390 VMCOM1 R/O 250 CYL ON DASD 4993 SUBCHANNEL = 000B > DASD 051D 3390 630RL1 R/O 26 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 0002 > DASD 0551 3390 VMCOM1 R/O 40 CYL ON DASD 4993 SUBCHANNEL = 000F > DASD 05E5 3390 630RL1 R/O 18 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 000D > DASD 0890 3390 630RL1 R/O 60 CYL ON DASD 4994 SUBCHANNEL = 000C > DASD 0990 3390 630RES R/W 60 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 001D > DASD 0CF1 3390 630RES R/O 120 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0010 > DASD 0CF3 3390 630RES R/O 120 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0012 > DASD 0CFD 3390 630RES R/O 1 CYL ON DASD 4990 SUBCHANNEL = 0011 > Ready; T=0.01/0.01 13:54:48 > > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU] On Behalf Of Mark > Post > Sent: Friday, June 05, 2015 1:19 PM > To: LINUX-390@VM.MARIST.EDU > Subject: Re: RHEL Install zvm > >>>> On 6/5/2015 at 01:15 PM, "Dazzo, Matt" <mda...@pch.com> wrote: >> These are the only errors I have gotten so far. >> >> INFO kernel: dasda:CMS1/ LXM192: dasda1 >> * NOTE: To enter default or empty values press enter twice. * >> Device 0.0.0600 not present, trying to clear from blacklist and resense... >> Device 0.0.0600 does not exist >> Device 0.0.0601 not present, trying to clear from blacklist and resense... >> Device 0.0.0601 does not exist >> Device 0.0.0602 not present, trying to clear from blacklist and resense... >> Device 0.0.0602 does not exist >> 0) redo this parameter, 1) continue, 2) restart dialog, 3) halt, 4) shell > And if you do a #CP Q NIC what comes back?
