Hi Mark, The provisioning of an Active Domain needs, according to the literature, the utility samba-tool which is a python script. I had a look in the source package in opensuse leap 42.1 and there samba gets build with option --with-MITKRB5.
In this case all the tools are not applied to the bin directories and I don't know how YaST would do the provision without them. Therefore my question. It is not clear to me but there seems to be still an issue with MIT and HEIMDAL version of Kerberos. Nevertheless SERNET has a version 4.1 with AD support running on SLES 12 which I am currently running on my test X64 system. That works fine. But since Samba 4.3 the packages provided by SERNET are not free any more and there is also no package for s390x. So that is not an option for me. Building the source RPM of samba 4.3.2 for in tree HEIMDAL does not work on SLES 12 either. There seems to be includes missing. On Debian however the build succeeds and is working as domain controller properly.
