Okay, I'm now stuck at expanding the logical volume (the whole purpose of this
exercise was to expand the /home mount point).

I'm to the point of:

xfs_growfs /home
xfs_growfs: /home is not a mounted XFS filesystem

Hmmm....not a XFS, then what is it? 'df' only shows that it is a ext4:

df -Th

So, how do I know what filesystem was used for this?

I have successfully:
pvcreate
vgextend
lvextend

Good catch...the web page I was using has a '-f', but perhaps they meant
'-F'...or possibly no longer viable.
Without the nonexistent switch, it formats.

Thanks,

I don't see -f listed as a valid option.
