Thank you, Rick. I did not CMS format the new 3390.  I simply did a
Flashcopy of the old volume cyls 1-10016 to the new 3390 1-10016.  I have a
system that I really need to upgrade, but there is not enough space on the
old volume to do the upgrade.  The last thing  I want to have to do is
install a new system and try to migrate the old system into it.

I will give this a try.
