Well, I think I can say I am 100% reliable in Linux in console mode with
any combination of the following:

Linux
-----------------------------------------
2.2.12
2.2.13

hardware
------------------------------------------
bp6 (metal or plastic levers)
c366@[EMAIL PROTECTED] under alphas (temps up to 46C case 40-41 on procs no
probs)
60MM fan over bx chipset and power regulators (I don't think this really
matters)
banshee,i740,s3 virge/dx,v770,xentor16 video
ata-33 cdrom
ata-33 maxtor 10GB drive
ami 428 raid card
3com 905b tx, tulip based,ne2000,etherexpress
128Mb pc-125 ram single stick in dimm 1
generic floppy
300w ps , 400w ps, 235w ps, 250w ps (currently running on 400w and 300w
ps)

bios settings
--------------------
no power management
no pnp
cas 3
no video caching
no bios caching
no serial ports
no parallel ports
no usb
irqs - manual
irq 9 set to isa
pirq auto

This is all of the significant stuff I can think of for now. These 2
machines, run setiathome 24x7 and I have yet to freeze up in console
mode. On the other hand, with x running, 2 days is the most I could
hope to run before locking up.

PS I think I posted to this mailling list the fact that my NT boxes
since upgrading to the PW bios have been running for 9 straight days
@100%x2 which is probably a record of some sort. I really think that
Abit is struggling to fix the BP6 bios. If we could get Alan Cox to
help them, I think all of the BP6 problems would go away in short order.
But until they are able to resolve these bios issues, they will
probably stick to their party line of "buy a bigger power supply," so
calling/writing to them won't be very fruitful.

As a sanity check, and this is probably the wrong forum to ask, whos is
not
having problems? What are your uptime records?
