Hi,

I have my Quantum on ide2 (marked ide3 on the board). I give the following option to 
the kernel when booting:
        ide2=0xac00,0xb002,11

Now it starts and recognises the HDD (as /dev/hde). Note that it isn't ATA66 (just 
PIO). You have to patch the kernel for that (I use 2.2.14).
