Hi Andre
I belive my BP6 motherboad is also quite stable however there are
couple of linux bugs which make this machine crashing :)
Basicaly could you look at this problem:
When I boot my SMP kernel with parameter nosmp
the computer gets locked here in the startup process:
hdf: 60036480 sectors (30739 MB) w/1916KiB Cache, CHS=59560/16/63, UDMA(66)
Partition check:
/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 p2 p3 < p5 p6 p7 p8 p9 >
/dev/ide/host2/bus0/target1/lun0: hdf: lost interrupt
(instead of this [PTBL] [3737/255/63] p1 p2 p4 < p5 p6 p7 p8 p9 > )
- I assume there are some inbalanced irq's, but I can't understand your code
at all...
The second problem I have is - when I try to tranfer file from ATA66 ext2 to
ATA33 vfat partion there is 50% chance that during transfer of some large
file (400MB and above) the computer gets locked - at first it lock
one CPU - so I can move for a while mouse and windows but then after 5 second
or so the second CPU locks too and I had to press reset button.
I would say this is also some bug of the ata66 code - once I had reported
this on the linux kernel mailing list but it was probably lost in the crowd.
Anyway if you need more info just ask me - I'll try to do anything to
fix these two problems.
