what's interesting about this, is that of all the crimes going on in the world
today, you choose to throw your laughable resources into exposing the tyrannies of a
man, who, it seems, is doing a fine job of just that all by himself.

so even though you see yourself as some kind of whistle-blowing champion of geeks
everywhere, you're still accountable, according to you, for being quiet about
countless other documented though unresolved conflicts going on in the world,
perpetrated by 'evil men'

what's even more interesting is that even though you unix geeks like drawing
parallels between gates and hitler, and an early 90's interview that you are
obviously alluding to mein kampf, you are still talking about the worlds greatest
humanitarian.

personally i see gates as something of a modern-day rockafeller. only he made a lot
more people wealthy besides himself.

Ever been to the UK? All plugs are 3-prong and contain a fuse.
Moreover, the `live' holes in the socket are inaccessible unless a
prong is inserted into the earth socket; what happens in the US if a
toddler decides to play with a pin?

You may argue that this system is too cumbersome, but it's certainly
safer than the American system.

I'm not interested in promoting the UK as the Best of All Possible
Worlds (quite the opposite) - I just thought I'd point out your
ignorance.

My GOD, I said "IBM makes good hardware, but horrible softare"
and then you take it to an example of the behavior of a terminal...
the IDIOTIC behavior of which is controlled by the idiotically-specified
specifications of the SOFTWARE running on the embedded microprocessor.

get soooooooooo hung up on symbolism...and then get all goo-goo misty-eyed

Hitler's reign.

It's known that modern Democrats play on peoples fears.
("Our children will starve!" [school lunch program],
"Republicans hate black people!" [affirmative action], etc)

Democrats also play people off of other people. The classic
Bill Clinton maneuver is to send his pundits out to get one
group of people riled up about something, and then get another
group riled up about the same thing. They conflict and there
are tensions, and magically, Clinton steps in with the solution:
more government and more taxes. This actually isn't just a Clinton
thing, the Democrats have been doing it for years.

They have fundamental belief that all of Americas problems can
be solved by more government. They also believe that Americans
are stupid, and cannot provide for themselves or solve their
own problems. Welfare is a prime example. Welfare is now not just
a stepping stone, like it should be, it's a way of life for over
20 million Americans and growing rapidly every day. Affirmative
Action is another example. Democrats try as hard as they can to
divide people into groups, rather than just recognizing them as
Americans. Conservatives don't like AA because it doesn't let
people be people, it forces people to be "black" or "hispanic"
rather than just being the right person for the job.

I'm not arguing that there isn't racism, I'm just saying that AA
is the worst way to go about it. It's ironic that the ACLU and
many liberals are against racial profiling by the Police, but
then do it every day in their workplace.

As for poverty, the Democrats create an environment where people
have no choice but to go on welfare or some other social program.
They no longer have to provide for themselves because they know
that there's always a safety net. They get lazy, eventually they're
wholly dependent on the Government for sustenance, house, and
money.

Democrats implement policies and are heading down a road to where
as many people are dependent upon the Government as possible. This
gives greater control and allows them to perpetrate these fear
tactics to ensure votes. These dependent citizens will surely
vote for Democrats because, "those evil Republicans are going to
take the nipple of Government away from me!"
