I didn't deny that it's in use...I said that it doesn't WASH anymore.

Then why did M$ try to imply that Lose98 makes Lose95 obsolete,
and now Lose2000 and LoseME make Lose98 obsolete?

Not SCO.

SCO was locked out of the desktop marketplace by M$'s illegal
exclusionary contracts.

true. On the other hand, AT&T had absolutely ZERO experience
in the computer industry as a vendor...and given their previous
several decades of telecom experience, was not even properly
staffed (i.e management) to play the game.

You've never heard of Digital Research, and DR-DOS, which had a
10% compatible, TRUE multi-tasking version of DOS on the market in
1985.

Oh...and by the way...M$ settled that suit OUT OF COURT in return
for an agreement that Caldera (who bought out DR) *NEVER* say another
word about it again.

Innocent parties don't do things like that.

It's invalid. In the 1960's the only computer manufacturer
most people had ever heard of was IBM....right up to the time
of the PC.

On the other hand, It was pretty hard to get through the 1980's
without being aware of the TRS-80, Apple, Atari, Commodore, and
other vendors.

In fact, the "Don't blame me, I bought IBM" excuse was solidly
KILLED by the vast market of PC-clone manufacturers.

Now...to be taking advantage of alternative hardware suppliers,
and then deny that you are aware of the existance of alternatives
is....counter-intuitive.

Others who wish to present their thoughts more clearly simply
call it "lying" or "so goddamned fucking stupid as to be incompetant"

FORD and GM have both switched CAD platforms at minimal cost,
because they ONLY used CAD vendors which use NON-PROPRIETARY
file formats.

Anybody who generates and manipulates business-essential data
with applications that use proprietary formats is a fool who
will eventually pay for that foolishness by being driven from
the marketplace for excessive operating costs.

And how does this deflect from the fact that you KNOWINGLY LIED about
the supposed difficulty of developing a multi-tasking kernal...JACKASS

(hint hint: it took me less than a month...WORKING BY MYSELF
with a crude 1970's 8-bit processor with no user/privileged

So who cares what this wacko thinks? Who the hell is he? The leader
of some computer club? ROFL.

Here's another link:

And in any note, anyone who was concerned about this would simply
use their own crypto-suite or buy another commercial one and
be done with it. If you don't trust Microsoft's CryptoAPI, then don't
use it.

It's good to see yet another Register lie has been exposed.

Hopefully you people will see that's it's just a propaganda FUD
machine full of lies and deceit.

Let's just hope that it fucks up beyond all recognition in a
training exercise, where the "enemy" consists of nothing more
than other US warships.
