Hmmm... if you have to start DHCP manually after all is up, how about
putting this in the .bash_profile or /etc/.profile? Under Sun its
usually in .dtprofile. Its a start at least. It may also be a dumb
idea on my part tho.

Hmmm.... one or the other article seems to be in error. Or just badly
written. The Sun article that I posted earlier is pointing out that the
IIS is the ones hackers favor the most. I will clarify tho, that its
Compaqs problem for not doing things right. A lot of things weren't
done right.... why they're sitting on their Alpha products is beyond me
or the VMS product line. They bought out DEC and then lets it rot on
the vine. Doesn't make any monetary sense.

Well, the problem is that there is no way to guarantee that your script
will setup the environment variables for all current and future users.

People (programmers especially) can customise their login environments
in weird and wonderfull ways. An attempt to set some variables may even
trash their existing setup (unless you are very careful) and that will
piss off your customers no end.

Maybe it's a PR thing.
Maybe they knowingly organized a company to use the outdated unstable
kernels and deliberately crashed them to publically blame it on Linux.
You know, the "Once I thought I was wrong, but it was a mistake" sort
