Minix and FreeBSD support PLIP.

kinstall does it all.

Complete GUI interface for installing new software...
So easy, even a drooling idiot can do it.

Pretty stupid way to run a computer.

Which is silly. :)

What'd be nice to see is a breakdown, by OS (where "OS" means Win95,
Win95OSR2, Win98, Win98SE, Linux, AIX, HPUX, etc, etc, etc) of actual bugs,
organized by severity. The only case an application bug should be listed is
if it is such that it allows the user to do something violating system
security.

Then at least we could look at, say, the progress of the various Linuxes,
Windows versions, and so forth and get a result that might actually mean
something. (My personal favorite line is that "Windows has 30,000 issues"
or whatever the number is; turns out that of those 30,000 some ridiclously
high proportion aren't bugs at all, but requests for things such as more
control over fonts on dialogs, that sort of thing. We'd like to avoid that,
here.)

Was PG&E forced to operate under price-control regulation?
a) no
B) YES

Clue for the fucking clueless marxist:
Price control is not a "free market", shit-for-brains.

That's a Marxist construct.

They are? Silly me; I thought they were bundled applications. MSI, at
least the runtime, is a part of the OS.

I have 3 PCs here. I use MSI to handle software here. Why? Simple.
Suppose I want to update, oh, say, Office on all the machines. I could go
to each machine and run the updater. I could tell each user to go run the
setup on drive N. Or I could just edit the user policy and voila; come next
logon, it's done.

Yes, it is nice. RPM is _also_ nice, but needs work (if nothing else, why
can't the *&!*&!! thing seem to handle auto-dependencies? Or did I just
miss a switch somewhere? :) )

I know; he's been like this as long as I can recall, but if anything, he
seems to actually be getting worse with time.
