You've obviously not used vi (note it's lower case, not VI). Agreed, vi is
a bitch no learn, but once grokked, it is a truely powerful editor. No doubt
the same could be said for emacs - but as I don't use it, I can't comment.

I can't speak for him, but I have run into the situation where a full install
of Win98 would not have the neighbourhood icon, nor the "Find Computer" menu
entry. I didn't delete it; Rather, it never was installed (or at least never
showed up) in the first place.
Now, IIRC I installed that particular Win98 on my laptop when the laptop
did not have any network hardware attached --- but hey, it's a laptop, which
has PCMCIA slots, so it really should be expected that at some later time,
I'll drop in a network card.

That's the confusing part for me. OEM price of only $40 for Win98? And
I had to pay $80 at Costco for the upgrade? Something doesn't jive up
