I've got a weird behaviour with milo-pc164-981008. I re-partitioned
and re-formated an old Quantum fireball disk on an alpha, copied the
running disk on it and rebooted with the Quatum as the only disk on
the machine. The NT ARC had no problem finding linload and milo on it.
Surprizingly however, milo couldn't read the ext2 partitions. The ls
command produced something like (from memory)

//
Milo read the small dos partition without problem. The ext2 partitions
were formatted under 2.2.15pre3 and the latest e2fsprogs. Could this
be the reason? Note that the kernel (had to load it from a floppy
:-( ), both 2.2.15pre3 and 2.1.131, had no problem whatsoever...
After much trial-and-error I built the disk on an INTEL machine
running 2.1.131, put it on the alpha and milo finally read them.
Any clues?
