Take the CD player to the nth dimension.

I am pleased to announce the release of xmcd version 2.5, a package
including xmcd, an X11/Motif-based CD player utility and cda, a
command-line driven, non-graphical CD audio player.

In its evolution over the past few years, xmcd has established itself
as the premier CD player application for the X window system with an
attractive, easy-to-use user interface. It is the most feature-rich
CD player that runs on virtually all of the popular UNIX and OpenVMS
platforms. It also supports the widest array of CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW
devices, including multi-disc changers and some older SCSI-1 drives that
do not work with other CD player applications. The remote CD database
query feature fully utilizes the Internet and taps on the vast repository
of the CDDB(tm) Internet CD database, which is originally pioneered by
xmcd.

Xmcd also features "wwwWarp", the ability to remote control a web browser,
so that you can search and access many useful web resources and information
related to the CD you're listening to. Xmcd literally takes music
enjoyment to a level far beyond the standard stereo.

There are too many features to list, so visit the xmcd web page for
full information, screen snapshot and downloads:

Xmcd is FREE, Open Source Software, released under the GNU General Public
