The Scottish Linux User Group (SLUG) was formed in March 1998. It
normally meets on the last Thursday of each Month at 7:30 p.m.

May's meeting will be on Thursday 27th May 1999 at 7:30pm at The
Counting House, Public House, corner of Queen Street and St. Vincent
Street, Glasgow. Enter by St. Vincent Street door. Look for the group
with a fluffy penguin.
All welcome. 

Currently membership is free and SLUG is still floating a lot of ideas
like install fests, etc. More ideas encouraged.
 
SLUG has a mailing list that can be accessed by sending an email to

Sprite32/X is an object-oriented game development library written in C++
and based upon 2D sprites. It features automatic management of sprites
of arbitrary size and shape, joystick and DGA support, and rendering to
many different bit depths. It is a part of GAMES, the GNU Animation
Multimedia Entertainment System.

Version 0.5, codenamed "Anakin", is the first beta release of Sprite32.
New features in this release include an entirely new event model
(SpriteEvents replace X11 events), an experimental assembly language
blitter for the XImage renderer, and support for the Linux joystick
device.
