Now I have the same problem that Matthew. I want to download Star
Office (52MB!?) and my modem is 14.4. I tested all of the mirrors
and the best performance I achieve is 830 cps (well, ~ 21 hours of
FTP conection!).

Seeking in the list archive I've found this old message on the same
topic, that remains unanswered.

Are there any program, command or trick for download a big file in
small pieces (one at a night, for example)? Or are there any way
to resume an interrupted ftp session?

I heard that exists a program to windows (getright) that do this.
But I don't want to use windows. I use Linux 2.0 (Slackware)
and ncftp, but I am not an expert.

Any comment or sugestion will be well apreciated. Thanks.

On the side of the software box, in the "System Requirements" section,
it said "Requires Windows 95 or better". So I installed Linux. ;)
