Sybase are porting to Linux, too. I think they're expecting to
have a version available early next year. IBM have announced
that they have DB2 running on Linux in their labs, but they are
undecided as to whether they're going to officially release it
or not.

Also, you might look at MySQL or PostgreSQL. Both are open source
databases. MySQL is blindingly fast, integrates very well with
Apache and PHP, but doesn't support nested selects (when they do,
it'll be a *great* database). PostgreSQL is slower, but supports
some of the missing features in MySQL. AFAIK, neither support
foreign keys yet.

At the end of the day, all the commercial databases are pretty
much as good as each other. My personal preference is for Informix,
as I find it very clean compared to the others. If you have
significant DBA experience in any of them, it's probably best to
stick to that one.
