Greetings: I'm going bonkers trying things and using too much
bandwidth.. I need some guidance to find the most efficient way to
access a Usenet server, and a few newsgroups..

Been using most other Unix protocols under Linux for three years with
Slackware, presently kernel 2.0.29, but have met my Waterloo. :^)

As a client, on the Net with PPP, I want to read a thread of articles
in one group at a time; typically - comp.mailer.elm, etc, possibly
posting a query or reply to some..

Can it be that simple?? I've tried rn, rtin, trn, newsfetch, with the
latter seemingly simple, but getting bogged down and in trouble most
of the time..

Much reading led me to nntp-1.5.11, etc, trying to compile as client,
but not succeeding, even with Matt Welsh's detailed tutorial..
www.dejanews.com works but there's too much to wade thru that route..

What am I missing? Everything? Be most appreciative for any comments
or guidance.. [Methinks I need a brain transplant!]
