I agree. I prefer Slackware because it is the easiest for me to use.
(RedHat was confusing for me to install, and with Debian's packages it
is difficult at times to configure the system to my liking). But when
helping new individuals into "seeing the light" of the true OS, I
recommend what I feel they can handle due to their individual experience
level-- be it SuSE, Slackware, Red Hat, Debian, etc. Linux is Linux.

If it weren't for distributions like Red Hat or SuSE, there would be many
people still using Windows, merely because there would be no clear way for
them to experience Linux and get a good impression. I myself have had a
few who tried Slackware and couldn't really grasp it, but then found SuSE
and haven't been to Windows since... now that they've gotten used to
Linux, that's all that matters, they can setup stuff outside the limits of
the distribution.

It's amazing how people can have such strong religious feelings about the
various Linux distributions... everyone has different levels of
experience... if some prefer Slackware, they shouldn't be bashed for it...
same as if one were to prefer Red Hat, or any of the others... fighting
amongst "relatives" isn't a good thing.. (although a little rivalry
between different species... Linux and Windows... now that's different).

Now let's all put aside our differences and appreciate what is our common
similarity--- Linux!
