Hello All, An addendum to the below this seems to appear
only if I use the command thusly :
# backup >& filename.log
backup contains the necessary commands to tar & pipe to
the tape device .
Why isn't ssh able to have its level 1 & 2 output piped
to a file ? That appears to be the difficulty , although
I am not absolutly sure if this is the case . I have been
doing this for ages on older linux's <=2.0.34 . Tia JimL
