I also was having this problem. Make sure that you set up the proxy in the
'advanced' settings. Also, make sure that you have a recent version of
Netscape(4.0 didn't work for me, but 4.6 did).
I'm still unable to connect to the internet without the browser, though.
It's something to do with the 'socks' stuff that M$Proxy Server uses, I
think. But ftp from the browser will work fine.
