in /lib/X11/rgb.txt each red green and blue entry has 3 numbers. Does this
mean my x server supports 12bpp? If yes how do i go about getting it to
work? Ive flicked through the man pages and cant find any arguments of
anysort and /usr/X11R6/bin/startx doesnt mention colour depth at all.
Other than that ive no idea how to get it going. My XF86_Config file has
several modes defined in it but:
a) i cant define new modes with more colours until I can get the
data from the console,
b) i havent been able to work out how to get X to use a mode other
than the default.
Any suggestions? I know this might be a bit debianish, but it seems the
same people read this list too, and since it started here...
TIA
