If the goal is to reduce flash usage, wouldn't it make sense
to link modules in the kernel anyway and not have module
support at all?
Otherwise, writing a wrapper around the system call to load
modules might be an option? (even without providing all the
bells and whistles to probe and autoload...)
Just throwing some ideas, I admit I never tried to do anything
serious with neither libraries. Far too many things are due
for yesterday to bother about some flash space. (Of course,
requirements will change, but only yesterday, so I still have time).
