The 'ac' patches are patches from Alan Cox. He is able to have a higher
turn-over of patches than Linus, and Alan is a much better bug tracker
than Linus.
Alan is also good at not dropping random patches; some patches take time
to get into his tree than others.
The net effect is that Alan picks up many more bug fixes than Linus, and
so should have less problems in his tree than Linus.
