Well, PartMan is able to partition a PowerTec disk for ARM Linux (all the
usual disclaimers apply).  As with everything, I always recommend using
the absolute latest version of a tool, and in this case, it is 1.13beta2.

Ah, he's not talking about things like 'hda1', 'hdb3' and 'sda2' is he?
This is covered in the installation web pages (see address in the signature),
but I'll reproduce it here:

        hd      - IDE drive
        sd      - SCSI drive
          a     - first drive
          b     - second drive, etc
           1    - first partition
           2    - second partition, etc

So, sdb4 would be the 4th partition on the second SCSI disk, or hda7 would
be the 7th partition on the first (master) IDE disk.

That is indeed one of my test setups that I use (with a Syquest removable
drive).  There shouldn't be any problems.
