You might want to consider porting Lart's Boot loader (BLOB) to Brutus,
something I had wanted to do sometime in the future. I don't know what
Arnold is so I can't comment. One option to consider for Brutus is the
fact that there is a 72-pin "ROM" socket which has the control signals
mapped to allow writing too. Using this socket one could build a FlashROM
SIMM with some supported BLOB FlashROM ICs and "easily" allow for
re-programing of Linux/RAMDISK.

Another option to consider for Brutus is USB downloading support; however
I don't know how complex it would be to allow one to download a new
kernel/RAMDISK via USB. Also I believe the SA1100 has several USB issues
that make this task increasingly difficult.

If there is sufficient interest, I might consider laying out a ROM SIMM --
at the moment I'm trying to make an IDE/PCMCIA board.
