Speaking of documentation, it is generally a good idea to visit all the big unix vendors for unix-programming enlightment. Well written, fresh, and very thorough. Not everything is 100% compatible, but close enough. Some related links: http://www16.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/ds_print?lang=en_US&viewset=AIX&view=Books http://docs.sun.com/db/prod/solaris#hic http://docs.hp.com/index.html And...to rebalance the scale one can make a stop here: http://research.microsoft.com/~daniel/unix-haters.html ...for another very nice book, "Unix Haters Handbook" :-)...for some reason it's hosted by microsoft.... (-B. It sure made me laugh! /Robert
