Couldn't someone in a country without software patents code an MP3 write module that could be distributed as a patch or separate version of libsndfile? Or are the Fraunhofer patents more than just pure software patents? Although the only reason I can think of for writing MP3s is to export files to old hardware audio players that don't support Vorbis. -- Lars Luthman PGP key: http://www.d.kth.se/~d00-llu/pgp_key.php Fingerprint: FCA7 C790 19B9 322D EB7A E1B3 4371 4650 04C7 7E2E
