Fantastic !
It's now Ok : after a simple "sfxload synthgm.sbk"...
I can't use "playmidi", but drvmidi is working well ! The same for kmidi under KDE !
A good doc would be very helpfull...
Thanks for everybody's help !!!
And I thought that this mailing list was dead... ;-)
( I was very impressed : even Takashi Iwai mailed ! It could not be imaginable on Microsoft products.... )
PS : I can't suppress the HTML page linked... It seems to be impossible ( Outlook on Msmail server, --> SMTP gateway --> Firewall )

I thought Christophe said that he has no /dev/sequencer device?

Yes, he did... :) I don't think loading a soundbank would help (I'm not
sure if it is possible at all without /dev/sequencer) him. I guess he's
having some kernel/sound driver configuration problem but I can't see how
he could possibly miss building the sequencer driver (maybe 'MIDI
interface support' option in menuconfig?)
D.
PS.: Maybe 'cat /dev/sndstat' would give a hint?
