I am using a version of linux that is tiny and will fit on a floppy. I
built a custom kernel so that it will boot on the 386 I am testing it
with. It loads fine and then tries to load the ramdisk image. It says
"RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0" and then it stops. I've
waited for a full minute and there is no disk movement, no scrolling text,
nothing.

What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Joseph

P.S. I do have ramdisk support and initrd support compiled in.
