It's too bad that they don't prepend to "ld_library_path", rather than set
"LD_PRELOAD", as some packages use "LD_PRELOAD" for a slightly different
and necessary purpose. The encrypted virtual tunnel client which I use,
for example, uses it to override certain library routines, and these
overrides need to remain in effect for the entire time that the tunnel is
being used.
