Better use plip (ip over parallel conection) follow the plip mini
howto, then plug your thinkpad, and insert the disk of installation,
follow the steps and load the plip module, configure the interface and
follow the steps of a NFS installation.
Note: the "server" (desktop) box has to be the nfs server, so edit
your /etc/exports to export your cdrom path and create a .klogin file
on the root home dir, to allow the thinkpad access the exported
filesystem.
