Greetings, I took the plunge and brought a Acer/Philps CDRW drive. Linux (Slackware3.9) recongized the device (/dev/hdb) w/o problem. My question is how can do I parititon/format the rewrite-able disk. One thought I had was create a partition on my HD the same size as my CDRW disk and then dd between the two. Basically I want to create an empty (ext2) filesystem on the CDRW disk. Thanks for your time. Dave Jackson
