I'm running redhat 6.0 boxes around here. Their default xdm interface
is now gdm. It has no man page, but the /usr/doc/gdm/* docs indicate
that it listens on port 177, same as xdm.

However, trying to connect to it from another host just doesn't
work. For example:

        X :5 -query xserverhost

just doesn't work. gdm uses tcp_wrappers (good thing!), but I have
host.allow set up to let these clients through.

However, if I run xdm on the hosts that I want to get X access to, it
works just fine.

What am I missing here?

Thanks for any help to get this working...

Tony
