I puchased a DSI corp pci modem about a month ago. Its from the same
people who make the sound blaster stuff. It works fine in window95, but
linux doesn't seem to recognise it.
The modem came with drivers for windows, but I thought maybe linux
would have the ability to find and recognise it. As it is, if I look in
/proc/pci the card shows up as a unkown communication device. It shows a
irq = 10 and io = 0x6100, but so far I can't find the modem stuff as it
is under windows which includes the above info as
DSI Modem Device Controller
When I look under modem it shows
DSI D-F-V V.90 DI3635
the resources are irq = 10 io = 02E8 - 02EF
This doesn't come up in linux. So what I'm wondering is if linux can
control this with a little help, (ie..pci pnp stuff) or if I'm going to
have to get a driver for it. I've sent an email to the tech support at
the manufactor but no response as of yet( 1 week). And building a driver
sounds rather intimidating, but I'm willing to try as I have more time
than money right now.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
thanks Dennis
