Well, actually I'm not supposed to buy another card, cause the machine
I work with is not actually mine... And that kind of card works perfectly
well
on every windows setup I have ever used. Even the monitor.

And yes, I typed EXACTLY, the data in the manuals of both the Video card
and the monitor, without getting any success... I specified the EXACT brand,
type, data, etc. and nothing improved.... the test utility even detected
that
I may use 1024x768x32bits... though it doesn not use it at all...

I tryed custom setup as well and nothing! Im in despair!
I guess I have to tweak a little more the config file for XFree86,
but I needed tips on doing this, thats the why of this posting....

Apreciate any help!
Ivan

In the first place it is not "linux" that has this problem. It is xfree86.
The
SiS chipsets are pretty lame anyway the bst thing would be to get a matrox
card
or even one of the new voodoo cards or Vipers. I think though that your
problem
is based on which monitor you choose in Xconfigurator. Make ure that if you
are
choosing a specific model that it is EXACTLY your model.. otherwise try to
use
a custom setup for your monitor.
