Hi All,

I have just backed out of an upgrade to my linux server because of a
problem getting a stallion card working under 2.2.6.

After doing the upgrade via slackware linux 4.0, I could not get the
stallion EasyIO working either as a module or as part of the kernel. I
upgraded the stallion drivers, and also tried to downgrade them (in case

the card was too old to handle the new drivers - surely stallion hadn't
dropped backward compatability)... That didn't work, so I upgraded to
kernel 2.2.13, which like wise did not work.

Of course, I checked the stallion.c source to ensure irq and port
address matched the card settings. I also cat'd /proc intrerrupts and
ioports, and they of course did not list the card.

At the moment I'm back on 2.0.36, and all of its old utils. I'm a little
anxious to get the upgrade done as I probably need to get onto the
latest packages and utils just in case of any more y2k issues

Has anyone successfully upgraded using a stallion card?

Phillip
