Greetings,
I seem to have misconfigured my linux box such that no
users can log over telnet or on the console, but I can
FTP in, and mail still works.
I think I might have broken it when I was trying to set
up su to only be usable by the wheel group, but I booted
in single user mode and changed those settings back, and
I still can't log in.
If I su to a regular user, then attempt to su back to
root, I get a message that the password is invalid. I
used passwd to change the root password only moments
before, so I know it is correct.
When I run login it also refuses to authenticate users.
Suggestions?
