Hi

I recently installed a new NIS server. Now I find it is no longer
possible to change one's password, although the yppasswdd daemon on the
NIS server is running. The NIS server is a RedHat 6.2 machine running
ypserv-1.3.9-3 and the clients are either RedHat 6.1 or RedHat 6.2.

Note that it is possible to connect to the passswdd daemon on the NIS
server:

Error while changing the NIS password.
The NIS password has not been changed on numbat.

I have been very careful in typing the new password in correctly, but I
always get this error. Anyone has any suggestions as what may be wrong?

Any help will be most appreciated.

Thanks
