Hi We have a small problem. We're installing a Cisco switch in the network, and at the moment we're only testing it. we can ping all pc's and servers from behind the switch except one - the Linux fileserver. The netmask is the same on all units, the ip addresses are ALL of the same class, we just don't seem to be able to see it. All other Pc's can though. It's as though the Linux server is telling the switch to go take a running jump! (it does have a Win2000 machine behind the switch so I can understand that!) Is it a Linux issue, or a Samba issue - I have set up an account for the switch, although it probaby doesn't need one. I can ping other machines the other side of the switch from other PCs howerver. S'afunnyone, this. Anyone help? Matt.
